to the soul with a cracked heart
4:30 PMwhy? why me?
and the question flits about in my mind. why? why you?
i cannot come up with an answer.
the why weeps. it mourns and trembles and rages to the heavens, while bare tree-bones rattle against a too-blue sky.
sorrow upon sorrow!
the wind mourns; the sun mocks.
why, you ask (with dark, burning eyes made beautiful and terrible by grief), do bad things happen to good people?
i cannot come up with an answer; i have never had my heart torn asunder.
i cannot do anything but take your hand and weep with you.
i cannot think anything but this:
God is good, all the time. all the time, God is good.
after all, He wept too.
/
(lately, it seems like there are too many people i know who are going through very tough times. prayers, love, and lots of hugs to you.)
xox,
grace

DeleteThis is so beautiful, Grace. Thanks for creating it. There are truths that are larger than us and our petty trivialities and enormous sorrows, and this is a good reminder of that. <3

Yes. Can I just say this was comforting? Although you didn't answer the question, the fact that He wept answers it in another way - He feels our pain.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I just discovered your space here - you have a lovely blog! I like the name a lot too. Keep up the good work! :)
